Jasdeep Singh Jassi Launches Association of Indian American Minorities in Maryland

In Maryland, the Association of Indian American Minorities (AIAM) was launched with Jasdeep Singh Jassi as its President. Jassi emphasized the importance of unity among minority communities within the Indian-American diaspora, especially in light of growing separatist movements and divisive forces. He stated, "It's a very special day - it's the need of the hour."

Jassi highlighted the association's commitment to fostering collaboration among minorities worldwide, including Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, and Jews. He stressed that when minorities unite, their collective strength becomes immense. Jassi shared his vision for the association's growth and its potential global impact, aiming for Indian minorities abroad to unite and collaborate.

Jassi also commented on the political climate in the United States under President-elect Donald Trump, expressing optimism about the future for minorities. He noted that 52% of Muslim voters supported Trump, along with significant backing from the Hispanic community, suggesting a promising future for all communities under his leadership.

The AIAM's launch event took place at the Sligo Seventh-day Adventist Church in Maryland. During the ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was honored (in absentia) with the Dr Martin Luther King Jr Global Peace Award for Minority Upliftment, recognizing his efforts towards inclusive development and welfare of minorities in India.
