World No. 1 Jannik Sinner triumphed over Hubert Hurkacz with scores of 7-6(8), 7-6(2) to win the Halle Open trophy. The Italian star faced challenging matches throughout the tournament but emerged victorious, becoming the eighth player in ATP history to win a trophy in his debut as World No. 1.

Sinner and Hurkacz were evenly matched, with no service breaks during the game. Sinner won 85% of his serve points, while Hurkacz won 69%. The match lasted one hour and 50 minutes, with Sinner excelling in crucial moments.

“It means a lot. It was a tough match against Hubi. I knew I had to serve really well and you play only a couple of really important points throughout the whole set. So I was happy and I tried to produce in the best possible way in the important moments. I’m very happy about this tournament because [winning for] the first time on the grass court, it’s a good feeling,” Sinner said.

Sinner is looking forward to future tournaments, especially on grass courts, and expressed confidence in his performance. He has one week to prepare for Wimbledon and hopes for a good tournament.
