Jana Sena Leader Bolisetti Satyanarayana Criticizes Rushikonda Palace Construction in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), June 21: Jana Sena Party leader Bolisetti Satyanarayana has accused bureaucrats of acting as ‘slaves’ to former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy by allowing the ‘illegal’ construction of the Rushikonda palace in Visakhapatnam.

The Jana Sena Party, an ally of the TDP-led government in Andhra Pradesh, demands action against the officials who permitted the construction. Satyanarayana stated, ‘If the officers were honest, palace construction wouldn’t have happened. Public servants like IAS, IPS, and IFS officers are to protect public money but these officers became slaves for political parties. Those officers who granted permission should be punished and the state government should suspend them immediately.’

He also urged all government officers and bureaucrats not to cooperate with any illegal activities, including those of his alliance party government led by CM Chandrababu Naidu, warning that otherwise, they would face imprisonment.

The Jana Sena Party’s official spokesperson and General Secretary claimed that former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy wanted to rule ‘like a king’ and build something very lavish. ‘Dubai king also feels that Jagan has a more lavish home than them. They said they were going to spend Rs 200 crore, but it ended up costing Rs 500 crore. The palace was constructed like a private building, and no one was allowed inside. Police blocked all roads to Rushikonda while Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan and TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu tried to inspect it.’

Earlier, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) clarified that the Rushikonda palace is a government asset, not a private property of Jagan Mohan Reddy, and can be used by the Prime Minister and President during their visits to the state. Satyanarayana responded that this explanation should have been given before the construction, questioning the secrecy and timing of the disclosure.

He suggested that the state government should recover the money from Jagan Mohan Reddy, turn the palace into a public monument, and allow both rich and poor to visit it.
