Ramban Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kulbir Singh announced that security arrangements are in place ahead of the Assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking about the security measures, SSP Singh said, “Overall situation in the Ramban district is very good. During the parliamentary elections, the situation was equally good and people voted in good numbers. We hope that the trend continues this time around as well.”

SSP Singh also mentioned that they are addressing the issue of drugs during the polls. “We have a zero-tolerance policy towards drugs… We have a clear message for the consumers and peddlers of drugs that they will be behind bars,” he added. Earlier, Ravinder Raina, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the Nowshera Assembly constituency, held a roadshow. Raina expressed confidence in a strong BJP presence in Jammu and Kashmir. “There is a strong wave of BJP in the entire J&K… I hope that when the voting takes place here, the BJP government will be formed with a huge majority,” he said.

The elections will be conducted in three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1.
