Jammu and Kashmir Police Release Sketches of Four Terrorists, Offer Reward
The Jammu and Kashmir Police have released sketches of four terrorists who were last seen in the Dhoks of Malhar, Bani, and Seojdhar in Kathua district. The police have announced a reward of 5 lakh rupees for any actionable information about these terrorists.
This announcement comes after recent terror attacks in the Jammu region, including an attack on an army convoy in Kathua and encounters in Doda and Udhampur.
On August 7, security forces launched a search operation in the Khaneed area of Basantgarh in Udhampur district after an exchange of fire with terrorists. DIG Udhampur Reasi Range Rayees Mohammad Bhat stated that they have been tracking the movement of terrorists in the area for the past few days. The search operation is ongoing, with CRPF, police, and Army personnel involved.
Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai reported that there have been two terrorist attacks on pilgrims in the past five years, resulting in 14 casualties. He assured that the central government has implemented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the safety of pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir.
