Jammu and Kashmir Police Honor Brave Officers Who Stopped Terrorists in Doda

On Saturday, Jammu and Kashmir’s Director General of Police (DGP) RR Swain handed over appointment letters to Special Police Officers (SPOs) who recently neutralized three terrorists in the Gandoh area of Doda District.

Bravery Recognized

DGP RR Swain praised the SPOs for their bravery and dedication to public safety. He stated, “When the police personnel, which includes SPOs, work in this manner to keep the public safe, then to encourage them we absorb them as constables and we want that under this one ceremony, their families, community, people, cities, and villages, everyone should feel proud of their boys who come forward and work for their soil, for its protection.”

The Encounter

An encounter between terrorists and security personnel began on June 26 in the Gandoh area of Doda. By June 27, three terrorists were neutralized, and arms and ammunition were recovered. ADGP of Jammu, Anand Jain, confirmed the recovery of two M-4s and one AK-47 rifle, along with grenades and other basic necessities.

Ongoing Investigations

ADGP Anand Jain also mentioned that investigations are ongoing to determine if new terror groups are emerging in the area. He assured that there is no threat to the Amarnath Yatra and that efforts are being made to identify the terrorists whose sketches were issued.
