Jammu and Kashmir Police Chief RR Swain Warns Against Supporting Terrorists

Jammu and Kashmir’s Director General of Police (DGP), RR Swain, has issued a stern warning to those supporting terrorists. He stated that such individuals would be dealt with under the Enemy Agents Ordinance, a law harsher than the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

Enemy Agents Ordinance

Swain explained that the Enemy Agents Ordinance was created to tackle foreign invaders, particularly from Pakistan, who attempt to destabilize the government. Those found supporting terrorists will be labeled as enemy agents, facing severe punishments including life imprisonment or death.

Trained Pakistani Commandos

When asked about the involvement of trained Pakistani commandos in terrorist activities, Swain mentioned that it doesn’t matter whether the enemy comes from a military background or not. The focus is on defeating the enemy through training, determination, and tactics.

Internet and Cybercrime

Swain also expressed concern over the internet being used to sustain terrorism and separatism in Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted the broad context of cybercrime and its involvement in conventional crimes.

His statements come after a series of terror incidents in the region over the past two weeks.
