Jammu and Kashmir Police Busts Bike Theft Gang

The Jammu and Kashmir police have successfully busted a gang involved in bike thefts, recovering 15 stolen bikes. The investigation started when a resident of Dhanour, Jarallan Rajouri reported his bike missing on April 16th. The bike, with registration number JK11E-4637, was stolen from outside his residence.

After receiving the complaint, the police registered a case and began their investigation. With the help of CCTV footage and technical analysis, Shoket Ahmed, the son of Mohd Shafi from Kundal Dhan Tehsil Chasana in district Reasi, was identified as the main suspect. Upon questioning, Shoket confessed to the theft and provided information about his fellow gang members.

The police quickly arrested the other gang members: Aftar Hussain, son of Mohd Iqbal from Kalakote; Mudasir Mir, son of Parvaiz Mir from Shar Tehsil Mahore, District Reasi; and Zafar Hussain, son of Abdul Hussain from Kote Dhara Tehsil Rajouri. With these arrests, the police recovered 15 stolen motorcycles worth around 25 lakh and solved four cases registered at PS Rajouri.

Additionally, the police team led by SHO PS Rajouri solved two more burglary cases, arresting three burglars: Sharn Sharma (also known as Sunny), son of Satish Kumar from Rajouri; Anil Singh, son of Prem Singh from Ransoo; and Nadeem Khan, son of Mohd Kabir from Nerojal Saj. The questioning of these individuals led to the recovery of gold and electronic items valued at around 6 lakh.

The investigation is ongoing, and the police are hopeful of solving more theft cases as they proceed.
