Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha Prepares for Amarnath Yatra 2024

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited the base camp of Shri Amarnath Yatra in Jammu to check the arrangements for the pilgrimage. The first group of pilgrims will start their journey on June 28 towards Pahalgam and Baltal from the Jammu base camp.

To ensure the best health facilities for the pilgrims, LG Sinha interacted with doctors at the Nunwan base camp in Pahalgam. Waste management units have been placed along the Yatra routes to protect the environment. The Yatra will begin at 4 am on June 28.

Jammu and Kashmir DGP RR Swain mentioned that a comprehensive security plan is in place for the Yatra. The Jammu and Kashmir State Disaster Response Force (JK SDRF) is equipped with advanced tools to handle any emergencies along the route.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Vinod Kumar, briefed 15 probationary Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySP) from the 2023 batch on ensuring smooth and secure conduct of the Yatra. They were encouraged to communicate effectively and provide timely assistance to the pilgrims.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with the CRPF, conducted a mock security drill in Pahalgam to prepare for the Yatra. The Amarnath Yatra is an important annual pilgrimage for Hindus, starting on June 29 and ending on August 19 this year.
