Voter Turnout and Election Details
The Election Commission of India reported a 63.88% voter turnout. The third phase on October 1 saw a 69.69% turnout, with earlier phases recording 61.38% and 57.31%. These elections are the first since the abrogation of Article 370.
The NC and Congress, part of the INDIA alliance, contested together, while PDP and BJP ran separately. Key figures like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and former Chief Ministers Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah, and Mehbooba Mufti campaigned extensively.
