James Anderson, a former England fast bowler, has expressed his interest in participating in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. After retiring from international cricket this summer, Anderson has taken up a coaching role but remains eager to play in the T20 tournament. In an interview with Sky Sports, the 42-year-old shared his desire to return to cricket, stating, “That’s the whole point of going in the auction, I think, I want to play cricket again. Whether I get picked up or not is a different matter. There’s definitely a feeling inside of me that I’ve got more to offer, in some shape or form.”
Anderson also mentioned that he has continued bowling even after retiring from international cricket, maintaining his fitness and readiness to play. “But I’m really keen to play. I feel really fit, I’ve been bowling still, ticking over, so I feel like I’m in a good place and I’d love to have an opportunity to play somewhere,” he added.
Anderson retired as the third-highest Test wicket-taker in history, with 704 Test wickets, following legends Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne. His career spanned 22 years, during which he claimed 991 international wickets.
