Jalandhar West By-Election: 23 Candidates File Nominations

A total of 23 candidates have filed nomination papers for the Jalandhar West Assembly constituency by-election. On the last day to file, 14 candidates submitted their papers, including four covering candidates. Earlier, nine candidates had filed their papers.

Key Candidates

District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Aggarwal announced that the key candidates are:

  • Mahinderpal from Aam Aadmi Party
  • Surinder Kaur from Congress
  • Surjit Kaur from Shiromani Akali Dal

Former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, who is MP from Jalandhar, expressed confidence in Congress’ victory, praising Surinder Kaur as a grassroots worker.
