Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), August 25: Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition in the HP Assembly, Jairam Thakur, attended a mass hearing event for the 113th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme at the state BJP headquarters, Deepakmal Bhawan in Chakar. He also participated in a workshop on the District Membership Campaign 2024 during the event.

Addressing the gathering, Thakur praised the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme, highlighting its popularity and the encouragement it provides to the Start-Up scheme, especially through PM Modi’s engagement with students of IIT Madras.

Thakur also spoke about the BJP’s District Membership Campaign, stating that Himachal Pradesh is surpassing its target of enrolling 200 members at each booth, aiming for 16 lakh members in the state. He emphasized that the BJP is the largest political party in the world, with other parties far behind.

Discussing the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS), Thakur described it as great news for employees, noting that the BJP had committed to addressing employee concerns and introduced the UPS nationwide, securing the future of employees. He expressed gratitude to PM Modi for this decision.

Thakur criticized HP Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, questioning his stance on employee-related issues and the current environment between employees, ministers, and the Chief Minister. He called for solutions rather than speeches.

The event was presided over by District President Prem Thakur, with former minister Suresh Bhardwaj, State Vice President Rajiv Saizal, and Sanjeev Katwal among other leaders and party workers in attendance.
