Congress leader Jai Prakash Patel expressed gratitude to the party’s high command for selecting him as a candidate from the Mandu Assembly constituency for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections. Patel, who previously represented the Mandu constituency as a BJP member, switched to Congress on March 20. He believes the current political climate favors the INDIA alliance in the Vidhan Sabha polls.

The Congress party has announced its first list of 21 candidates for the Jharkhand Assembly elections. Key figures include State Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon, senior leader Ajoy Kumar, and Health Minister Gupta. Rameshwar Oraon will run for the Lohardaga (ST) seat, Gupta for Jamshedpur West, and Ajoy Kumar for Jamshedpur East.

Jharkhand’s elections will occur in two phases on November 13 and 20, with results announced on November 23. Chief Minister Hemant Soren confirmed that the INDIA bloc, including the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress, will contest 70 of the 81 seats together.
