ISRO to Launch Earth Observation Satellite-8 on August 15 from Sriharikota

ISRO’s Earth Observation Satellite-8 (EOS-8) is scheduled for launch on August 15 from Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, using the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV)-D3. This launch will mark the third and final flight of the SSLV Development Project, paving the way for future operational missions by Indian industry and NSIL.

Mission Objectives

The primary goals of the EOS-8 mission include designing and developing a microsatellite, creating payload instruments compatible with the microsatellite bus, and incorporating new technologies for future operational satellites.

SiC UV Dosimeter Monitors UV irradiance and serves as a high-dose alarm sensor for gamma radiation.
