ISRO Scientists Visit Tirupati Balaji Temple Before Launching SSLV D3 with EOS-08 Satellite

On August 15, ISRO scientists visited the Tirupati Balaji Temple in Andhra Pradesh to offer prayers ahead of the SSLV D3 launch. The SSLV D3 is set to launch the EOS-08, an Earth Observation Satellite, on August 16.

About the EOS-08 Mission

The EOS-08 mission aims to design and develop a microsatellite and create payload instruments compatible with the microsatellite bus. It also incorporates new technologies for future operational satellites.

Payloads on EOS-08

Payload Function
Electro Optical Infrared Payload (EOIR) Captures images in Mid-Wave IR (MIR) and Long-Wave IR (LWIR) bands for surveillance, disaster monitoring, and environmental monitoring.
Global Navigation Satellite System-Reflectometry Payload (GNSS-R) Uses GNSS-R-based remote sensing for ocean surface wind analysis, soil moisture assessment, and flood detection.
SiC UV Dosimeter Measures ultraviolet radiation.

The spacecraft is designed for a mission duration of one year.
