ISRO Chairman S Somanath Announces Gaganyaan Launch and Chandrayaan-4 Mission Updates

ISRO Chairman S Somanath announced that efforts are being made to launch India’s first human space flight program, Gaganyaan, by the end of this year. He shared this news during his visit to the Space Expo in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

The Union Cabinet has approved the construction of the first unit of the Bharatiya Anatriksh Station, expanding the scope of the Gaganyaan program. Regarding Chandrayaan-4, Somanath mentioned that ISRO has completed the engineering for the mission. The Cabinet has approved the mission, which will now go through several layers of approvals. Chandrayaan-4 aims to return to Earth after landing on the Moon and collect lunar samples for analysis. This mission will develop technologies for an Indian moon landing by 2040.
