Israel’s Ambassador Reuven Azar Visits Indo-Israel Centre in Uttar Pradesh

Reuven Azar, Israel’s Ambassador, recently visited the Indo-Israel Centre of Excellence for Fruits in Basti, Uttar Pradesh. This center is part of the Indo-Israel Agricultural Project, focusing on semi-arid horticultural crops. During his visit, Ambassador Azar interacted with local farmers, distributed farming kits, and inspected the facilities where mango saplings are grown in controlled environments.

Ambassador Azar highlighted the collaboration between India and Israel, initiated by Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Netanyahu, to enhance agricultural production using modern technologies. He expressed gratitude to the Uttar Pradesh government for their support and noted the positive impact on mango and vegetable quality and output.

The center provides training to 16,000 farmers, with two operational centers in Uttar Pradesh and more planned. Across India, there are 32 such centers in collaboration with the Indian government. Ambassador Azar also visited the Ram temple in Ayodhya and met with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to discuss agriculture, irrigation, and potential Israeli investments in the region.
