Israel’s Airstrike Eliminates Hamas Leader Muhammad Salah
On June 25, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) announced that they had eliminated Muhammad Salah, a key figure in Hamas’ Weapons Manufacturing Headquarters. Salah was responsible for developing strategic weaponry for Hamas and commanded several terrorist squads.
The operation, carried out by the Israeli Air Force, was based on IDF intelligence. During targeted raids in the Rafah area, IDF troops located and dismantled large amounts of weapons and launchers used against IDF troops in the Tel al-Sultan area in Gaza. Additionally, several tunnel shafts were dismantled, and a number of armed terrorists were eliminated.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel is prepared to pause the ongoing conflict in exchange for a partial deal for the return of hostages in Gaza. However, he emphasized that the war will not end until Hamas is destroyed. Netanyahu also mentioned that Israel is preparing for a possible all-out war with Lebanon’s Hezbollah, which has increased its cross-border strikes on Israel.
The conflict in Gaza escalated after an October 7 attack by Hamas, where about 2,500 terrorists breached the border into Israel, leading to casualties and the seizure of hostages. Israel’s offensive in Gaza aims to eliminate Hamas’ infrastructure while minimizing civilian casualties.
