Israel’s Actions in Gaza: Airstrikes, Electricity Boost, and Humanitarian Aid
Israel’s military has been actively targeting Hamas in Gaza. Over the past day, the Israeli Air Force destroyed 50 Hamas infrastructure sites. Ground forces found tunnel shafts and seized weapons like AK-47 rifles and grenades.
In Rafah, airstrikes destroyed Hamas infrastructure and eliminated terrorists. In central Gaza, airstrikes removed threats to ground forces.
On Tuesday, Israel increased the electricity supply to Gaza to help operate water desalination and sewage systems. This move, approved by Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, aims to meet the basic humanitarian needs of Palestinians in humanitarian zones. The power is directly transferred to the desalination plant in Khan Yunis to prevent theft by Hamas. Once fully operational, the plant will provide 20,000 cubic meters of water daily, a significant increase from the current 1,500 cubic meters.
Israel had disconnected Gaza from its electricity grid in October. Hamas’s attacks on October 7 resulted in 1,200 deaths and 252 hostages. Of the 116 remaining hostages, more than 30 are believed dead.
