Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu Confirms Death of Hamas Chief Yahya Sinwar

In Tel Aviv, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the death of Yahya Sinwar, a key figure in the October 7 attacks last year. The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) confirmed that Sinwar was among three terrorists eliminated during operations in Gaza. Netanyahu has informed the families of Israeli hostages about Sinwar’s death.

This follows the recent elimination of other high-profile leaders, including Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah in Lebanon and senior Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran. Although Tehran and Hamas have accused Israel of Haniyeh’s death, Israel has not confirmed these claims.

The IDF has been actively targeting Hamas operatives, with recent operations resulting in the deaths of several high-ranking officials, including Rawhi Mushtaha and Sameh al-Siraj. The military continues its operations to dismantle terror infrastructure in Gaza, urging Palestinians in northern Gaza to move to a designated humanitarian zone in the south.

On Tuesday, the IDF and Shin Bet security agency reported the deaths of three Hamas terrorists involved in the October 7 attacks, killed in recent airstrikes.
