Tel Aviv, Israel – August 19: An Israeli man named Eden Debs, aged 30 and residing in Ramat Gan, has been arrested for collaborating with an Iranian agent, as announced by the Justice Ministry on Monday.

The State Prosecutor’s Office has filed an indictment against Debs for his contact with the Iranian agent. Debs carried out various tasks for the agent in exchange for payments made in cryptocurrency.
Tasks Performed
Among the tasks, Debs printed and posted posters encouraging a military coup and promoted a Telegram group aimed at recruiting additional Israeli citizens. Over the past four months, Debs was in contact with an operative working for Iranian intelligence who contacted him via Telegram.
Agent’s Instructions
The agent, who did not hide his Iranian origin, offered Debs various tasks in exchange for payment. Debs performed some of these tasks despite knowing the agent was acting on behalf of an enemy state. The agent also instructed Debs to purchase a burner phone, a dedicated SIM card, a wig, gloves, and a hat, and to delete all their communications at one point.

Debs maintained contact with the agent for an extended period, responding to several requests and even voluntarily offering to assist with the agent’s actions. He received various payments over time, negotiating the amount he would receive for each task. In total, Debs received $12,000 in cryptocurrency.
