Israeli Airstrikes Target Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza

On October 26, Israeli airstrikes targeted over 200 Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon. The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) reported that among those killed was Abbas Adnan Moslem, a commander in Hezbollah’s elite Radwan unit, known for attacks on northern Israel. The IDF also dismantled a Russian-made Kornet missile launcher.

In northern Gaza, particularly in Jabaliya, IDF forces eliminated dozens of Hamas terrorists, seized weapons, and dismantled terror infrastructure. They also neutralized a rigged vehicle and nearby terrorists. Similar operations occurred in central and southern Gaza.

Following the October 7 Hamas attacks, Hezbollah, backed by Iran, began daily rocket and drone attacks on northern Israel, displacing over 68,000 residents. Despite United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, which prohibits Hezbollah’s operations in southern Lebanon, the group continues its activities.

The October 7 attacks by Hamas resulted in over 1,200 deaths and 252 hostages, including Israelis and foreigners. Of the 97 remaining hostages, more than 30 have been declared dead. Hamas has also held two Israeli civilians and the bodies of two soldiers since 2014 and 2015.
