Israel Strikes Hezbollah Headquarters in Beirut
Targeting Leader Hassan Nasrallah
On Friday, Israel carried out a precision strike against Hezbollah’s central headquarters, located beneath residential buildings in Beirut’s Dahieh. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced the strike, stating it targeted the epicenter of Hezbollah’s terror activities.
IDF Spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari explained the necessity of the strike, emphasizing Israel’s determination to protect its citizens from Hezbollah’s terrorism. He noted that Hezbollah had been using Lebanese civilians as human shields and had been attacking Israel for almost a year.
An Israeli official revealed that the strike aimed to target Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah. However, it is still uncertain whether the strike was successful. The official compared the operation to the one that eliminated Hamas leader Mohammed Deif in Gaza.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported that the strike resulted in two casualties and dozens injured. As the conflict escalates, major countries are calling for a ceasefire and a two-state solution to achieve lasting peace in the region.
