Ishant Sharma Encourages Young Players in Delhi Premier League
Ishant Sharma, a veteran pacer for Purani Dilli 6, believes that hard work and self-belief are key for young players to excel in cricket. He is part of the Purani Dilli 6 squad in the first-ever Delhi Premier League (DPL), which started at Shri Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
In their opening match, Purani Dilli 6 faced South Delhi Superstarz but unfortunately lost. Despite the defeat, Ishant Sharma remains optimistic about the team’s future games. He said, “I’m very excited for Delhi Premier League. The League is happening first time in Delhi. My message for young players is to keep working hard and believe in your abilities, this format might be cruel but if you trust your abilities and work hard you can do wonders in any format.”
Ishant is thrilled to play alongside Rishabh Pant and other team members. He added, “I have been playing alongside Rishabh for so long, so playing with him is always a pleasure for me.”
Before the match, the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) honored Rishabh Pant for his contribution to the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 triumph. Purani Dilli 6 will next play against East Delhi Riders on Tuesday and West Delhi Lions on Wednesday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
