Ishan Kishan Joins Rest of India Squad for Irani Cup in Lucknow
Ishan Kishan has been included in the Rest of India squad for the Irani Cup, which will be held from October 1 to 5 in Lucknow. Kishan is one of the two wicketkeepers in the squad, alongside Dhruv Jurel. However, Jurel’s participation depends on his selection for India’s second Test squad against Bangladesh, starting Friday in Kanpur.
Recently, Kishan made a strong return to first-class cricket by scoring a century for India C against India B in the Duleep Trophy. This was his first red-ball match since his Test debut in the Caribbean in July 2023. Kishan impressed with his performance, dominating the bowling attack of India B.
Left-arm pacer Yash Dayal, also part of the second Test squad, has been picked for the Rest of India squad. Sarfaraz Khan, retained in the Team India squad for the 2nd Test, will represent Mumbai if not involved in the Test match against Bangladesh.
