Indore Faces Rising Dengue Cases: 16 New Infections Reported
Indore, located in Madhya Pradesh, is seeing a sharp increase in dengue cases. In the last 24 hours, 16 new people, including three females, have tested positive for dengue, according to health officials.
Current Statistics
From January to September 4, the district has recorded a total of 314 dengue cases. Out of these, 190 are male and 124 are female. Currently, there are 24 active cases in the district.
Tragic Incident
District Civil Surgeon GL Sodhi reported that a 16-year-old boy, who was dengue positive, died due to cardiac arrest during this period.
Preventive Measures
Sodhi explained that Aedes mosquitoes, which cause dengue, breed in clean water inside homes. He advised that stored water should be emptied once every seven days to prevent mosquito breeding. Water in flower pots should either be cleaned or have oil added to it to stop breeding.
Health Department Actions
When asked about the health department’s actions, Sodhi mentioned that a larvae survey is conducted in areas where positive cases are reported, and measures are taken based on the survey results.
