IndiGo Flight 6E 98 Redirected to Jaipur Due to Security Alert
An IndiGo flight traveling from Dammam, Saudi Arabia to Lucknow, India was redirected to Jaipur due to a security alert. The airline’s spokesperson confirmed that the aircraft was isolated and all passengers were safely disembarked. Authorities, including a bomb detection and disposal squad with sniffer dogs, inspected the plane and found no suspicious items.
Jaipur Airport Police Station’s Station House Officer, Sandeep Basera, confirmed that the 175 passengers were safely reboarded after the inspection. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) reported that ten bomb threats were posted on social media, with some originating from London and other countries. Several accounts posting these threats have been identified and suspended.
Airport security officers emphasized the importance of treating every threat seriously to ensure passenger safety. The Ministry of Civil Aviation, led by Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, held a high-level meeting with the Bureau of Civil Aviation, CISF, and other senior officials to address the threats.
