IndiGo Celebrates 18 Years with New Business Class and Wide-Body Aircraft Plans
IndiGo, India’s largest airline, is celebrating its 18th anniversary with exciting new developments. CEO Pieter Elbers shared that the airline is introducing business-class services on 12 metro routes starting in November. This marks a significant shift from IndiGo’s traditional no-frills service model.

In addition to the new business class, IndiGo announced plans to operate wide-body Airbus 350-900 planes by 2027. This move aims to attract a new segment of travelers seeking added comfort and convenience on domestic routes.
Bookings for the new business class will open immediately, with the first flights available in November. Elbers expressed confidence that this is the right time for IndiGo to expand its offerings, given the rapidly changing aviation sector in India.
