Security Alerts for IndiGo, Air India, and Akasa Air Flights
On October 24, 2024, a total of 20 flights operated by IndiGo Airlines received security warnings. IndiGo confirmed that all passengers were safely disembarked and that they worked closely with authorities, following standard procedures. The affected flights included routes such as Chandigarh to Ahmedabad and Guwahati to Kolkata.
Air India also reported receiving security threats via social media. The airline followed protocols and alerted authorities, ensuring the safety of passengers and crew. Similarly, Akasa Air’s response teams coordinated with local authorities to manage the situation, ensuring passenger safety and comfort.
In Goa, both Dabolim and Manohar International Airports were on high alert due to bomb threats. The Bomb Threat Assessment Committee was formed to evaluate these threats.
Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu announced additional airport checks to enhance passenger safety. He mentioned that the threats were posted on a private network, and efforts are underway to identify those responsible, who will be placed on a no-fly list. The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security is in contact with the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding these threats.
