A report on India’s food habits reveals evolving snacking preferences among different generations. Millennials and Gen Z favor bold flavors like Peri Peri, while older generations prefer black pepper. Surprisingly, the Achaari flavor is not as popular across all age groups.

Sweet Preferences

Chocolate remains a favorite sweet across all ages, with 65% of Gen Z, 63% of Millennials, 46% of Gen X, and 40% of Boomers preferring it. Mango and vanilla follow as popular choices.

Tea and Coffee Companions

Tea and coffee are popular snack companions, especially among Boomers (63%) and Gen X (61%). More than 60% of homemakers, non-working individuals, and salaried professionals enjoy snacks with their tea or coffee.

Snacking Habits

Over 40% of Millennials snack while socializing, traveling, or binge-watching shows, followed by 33% of Gen Z. Indians snack twice as much on weekends compared to weekdays.

Healthier Choices

Healthier snacks like dry fruits are gaining popularity, with 67% of respondents preferring nutrient-packed snacks. However, only 69% of Gen Z pay attention to ingredient labels, the lowest among all generations. The study notes that 94% of participants want more health-conscious snack options.
