External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim during his state visit to India. Jaishankar shared pictures of their meeting and expressed his appreciation for Ibrahim’s guidance in enhancing the India-Malaysia partnership.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Ibrahim at Rashtrapati Bhavan with a ceremonial reception. Ibrahim, on his first visit to India as the Malaysian premier, was received by Union Minister of State, V Somanna at the airport. He also paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat and signed the visitor’s book.
In his message, PM Ibrahim highlighted the long-standing beneficial relationship between Malaysia and India. He expressed his honor at the warm reception and emphasized the importance of close cooperation between the two countries.
PM Ibrahim’s visit, at the invitation of Prime Minister Modi, aims to further strengthen the bilateral relationship, which was elevated to an Enhanced Strategic Partnership in 2015. He is also scheduled to meet with the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, later today.
