India’s coal production has increased to 384.08 million tonnes up to August 2024, showing a 6.48% growth compared to the same period last year. Coal India Limited (CIL) produced 290.39 million tonnes, a 3.17% rise. Captive and other entities saw a 30.56% increase, producing 68.99 million tonnes. Coal dispatch also grew by 5.14%, reaching 412.07 million tonnes. The Ministry of Coal attributes this growth to improved logistics and a commitment to a steady coal supply.
