India’s 2025 England Tour Schedule Announced: Exciting Test Matches Ahead

India’s 2025 England Tour Schedule Announced

The schedule for India’s tour of England in 2025 has been revealed. The first Test match will start on June 20 at Headingley in Leeds. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared the schedule on X, stating, “Announced! A look at #TeamIndia’s fixtures for the 5-match Test series against England in 2025 #ENGvIND.”

The second Test will be held from July 2-6, and the third Test will take place from July 10-14 at the famous Lord’s Stadium in London. The fourth Test is scheduled at Old Trafford in Manchester from July 23-27, and the final Test will be at The Oval in London from July 31 to August 4.

This series is crucial for India as they have not won a series in England since 2007, when they won 1-0 under Rahul Dravid’s captaincy. It is also a key part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle.

During India’s last tour of England in 2021, they led 2-1 under Virat Kohli’s captaincy, but the final match was rescheduled to July 2022 due to COVID-19. India, led by Jasprit Bumrah, lost the rescheduled match by seven wickets, resulting in a 2-2 series draw.

In the most recent Test series between the two teams, held in India, England lost 4-1. Despite the ‘Bazball’ approach by England’s captain Ben Stokes and coach Brendon McCullum, India dominated with strong performances from Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin. Young players like Shubman Gill, Dhruv Jurel, Sarfaraz Khan, and Akash Deep also shined.
