Indian Women’s Football Team Prepares for Exciting Matches Against Myanmar

The Indian senior women’s football team has arrived in Yangon, Myanmar, for two friendly matches against the hosts. India, ranked 67th, will face 54th-ranked Myanmar on July 9 at Thuwunna Stadium.

Team’s Preparation and Strategy

Head coach Langam Chaoba Devi expressed confidence in the team’s attacking strategy, stating, “Myanmar are a good side and we are ready to face them. It’s going to be a high-intensity encounter.” The team has been training at the AIFF National Centre of Excellence in Kolkata since June 26, and the squad has been narrowed down to 23 players.

Past Encounters and Future Hopes

India has a history of tough matches against Myanmar, with four losses and one draw in their last five meetings. Captain Loitongbam Ashalata Devi believes these games will mark a fresh start, saying, “Myanmar’s game style has changed a lot since we last played them. Our team has the perfect mixture of senior and young players.”

Recent Form and Observations

Myanmar has been out of action since the Asian Games in China last September. They were knocked out of the group stage after losing to Korea Republic and the Philippines, with their only win against Hong Kong. The Indian team has closely observed Myanmar’s style of play and is prepared to match their technical skills.

Both the coach and the captain are optimistic about learning from these matches and improving their strategies for future games.
