Indian students in Kazan, Russia, are thrilled about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit for the 16th BRICS Summit. PM Modi arrived in Kazan to participate in the summit, which is chaired by Russia. Students from India, studying in Russia, sang a welcome song for him at Hotel Korston.

Student Reactions

Saniya from Pune expressed excitement about the opportunity to meet PM Modi. Shaurya Pratap from Bihar shared that they prepared a song for him. Surbhi from Delhi, who has been in Kazan since 2019, was eager to sing for the Prime Minister. Parul, a final-year medical student, felt grateful for the chance to welcome him. Arti Pawar from Maharashtra and Mrunmayi from Nagpur also shared their enthusiasm.

ISKCON Volunteers and Local Support

ISKCON volunteers from both Russian and Indian communities chanted ‘Hare Krishna, Hare Ram’ in anticipation of PM Modi’s arrival. Sergoy, an ISKCON volunteer, emphasized the importance of the visit. Alexander, a Russian citizen, expressed happiness and mentioned preparing a banner and song for the Prime Minister.

Before departing for Russia, PM Modi highlighted the importance of BRICS and looked forward to discussions on global issues. The summit, themed ‘Strengthening Multilateralism for Just Global Development and Security,’ offers a platform for leaders to discuss key topics. This visit marks PM Modi’s second trip to Russia this year, following his attendance at the India-Russia Annual Summit in July.
