Expert Insights
Amol Athawale, VP-Technical Research at Kotak Securities, advised short-term traders to be cautious and selective due to the risk of getting trapped at lower levels. The decline in indices was attributed to weak Q2 earnings, sustained foreign fund flows, and rising domestic inflation.
Market Influences
ICRA Analytics noted that persistent selling by foreign portfolio investors and the rise in domestic retail inflation above the RBI’s upper tolerance level, along with the weakening rupee against the US dollar, contributed to the market’s downturn.
Market Closure
The Indian stock markets will be closed on Friday for Prakash Gurpurb Sri Guru Nanak Dev, with trading resuming on Monday.
