Medal Wins

On day two, Indian shooters secured two bronze medals, bringing their total to five medals (two gold and three bronze). The 10m air rifle and air pistol mixed team events were the only medal events on Sunday.

Air Rifle Event

Gautami Bhanot and Ajay Malik shot a combined 628.9 after 30 shots each, finishing third among 34 pairs. They won the bronze medal match against Croatia’s Anamarija Turk and Darko Tomasevic with a score of 17-9. China won gold by defeating France in the final. Another Indian pair, Abhinav Shaw and Shambhavi Kshirsagar, finished sixth with a score of 628.1.

Mixed Pistol Event

In the mixed pistol event, Indian pairs finished third and fourth in qualification, setting up a bronze showdown between themselves. Lakshita and Parmod won against Kanishka Dagar and Mukesh Nelavali with a score of 16-8. Germany won gold and Ukraine took silver. This was Lakshita’s second medal after winning gold in the air pistol team event on Saturday.
