Indian Railways to Run Special Trains for Festive Season
The Indian Railways is set to operate 164 special trains on Wednesday to ensure timely travel during the Chhath and Diwali festivals. Dilip Kumar, the Executive Director of Information and Publicity at the Railway Board, announced that these trains will connect various cities across India, including Secundrabad, Ahmedabad, Kottayam, Ujjain, Bhopal, New Delhi, and Nagpur, to destinations in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
To accommodate the festive rush, Indian Railways plans to make an additional 7,000 trips nationwide. To prevent inconvenience at stations, officers, Railway Police Force, and other support groups will be on duty around the clock. In areas prone to overcrowding, extra seating and resting facilities have been arranged.
Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is a major celebration in India, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness. Families decorate their homes with rangoli and lights, offer prayers to Goddess Lakshmi, and enjoy sweets and fireworks, fostering unity and hope.
