NWR General Manager Amitabh stated that able-bodied railway staff are being deployed and trained in areas like swimming. The equipment used will be lightweight and easy to carry.

The Rail Rakshak Dal aims to assist the Railways and support district administration during emergencies. This initiative allows stakeholders to use the service free of cost during emergencies.

Inspector-General’s Statement

Inspector-General (IG) Railway Protection Force (RPF) Jyoti Kumar Satija expressed pride in the initiative, highlighting its quick response capabilities. This is the first time RPF is included in the rescue process.

This development follows incidents where dangerous objects were found on railway tracks and a recent stone-pelting attack on the Mahabodhi Express.
