Amisha Rawat’s Shot Put Performance

Indian para-athlete Amisha Rawat finished 14th in the F46 Shot Put final at the Paris Paralympics with a personal best throw of 9.25 meters. Despite her effort, she did not secure a medal.

Top Performers in Shot Put

Noelle Malkamaki from the USA won gold with a world record throw of 14.06 meters. Mariia Shpatkivska from Ukraine took silver with an area record of 12.35 meters, and Holly Robinson from New Zealand won bronze with a throw of 11.88 meters.

Parmjeet Kumar in Para-Lifting

In the men’s up to 49 kg category, India’s Parmjeet Kumar finished eighth with a best lift of 150 kg. Jordan’s Qarada Omar Sami Hamadeh won gold with a lift of 181 kg, Turkey’s Abdullah Kayapinar took silver with 180 kg, and Vietnam’s Le Van Cong won bronze with 171 kg.

India’s Medal Tally

The Indian contingent has won 21 medals so far, including three gold, eight silver, and ten bronze. This surpasses their previous best of 19 medals at the Tokyo Paralympics.

Other Notable Performances

Sachin Khilari won silver in the men’s shot put F46 final with a throw of 16.32 meters. Avani Lekhara won gold in the women’s 10m air rifle with a personal best of 249.7 points, while Mona Agarwal took bronze. Manish Narwal won silver in the men’s 10m air pistol SH1, and Rubina Francis won bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol SH1.

Preeti Pal won bronze in both the 100m T35 and 200m T35 races. Nishad Kumar won silver in the men’s high jump T47 with a leap of 2.04 meters. Yogesh Kathuniya won silver in the men’s discus throw F56.

Rakesh Kumar and Sheetal Devi won bronze in the mixed team compound archery event. Sumit Antil defended his gold in the men’s javelin throw F64 with a record-breaking throw. Nithya Sre Sivan won bronze in the women’s SH6 para-badminton category.

Nitesh won gold in the men’s singles SL3 para-badminton category, while Thulasimathi Murugesan won silver in the women’s singles SU5. Manisha won bronze in the same category. Suhas lost to France’s Lucas Mazur in the men’s singles SL4 final.

Deepthi Jeevanji won bronze in the women’s 400m T20 final. Sharad Kumar and Mariyappan Thangavelu won silver and bronze, respectively, in the men’s high jump T6 final. Ajeet Singh and Sundar Singh Gurjar won silver and bronze, respectively, in the men’s javelin throw F46 event.
