Indian Navy’s INS Tabar Visits Sweden to Strengthen Ties
New Delhi [India], August 15: The Indian Navy’s stealth frigate, INS Tabar, commanded by Captain MR Harish, arrived in Gothenburg, Sweden for a two-day visit. This visit aims to strengthen the warm diplomatic relations between India and Sweden, especially in the defense sector.
INS Tabar is equipped with a versatile range of weapons and sensors and is one of the earliest stealth frigates of the Indian Navy. It is part of the Western Fleet based in Mumbai under the Western Naval Command.
During its journey to Gothenburg, INS Tabar conducted a Maritime Partnership Exercise with the Swedish Navy Ship HMS Munter, involving visual signaling and escort operations. The crew will also engage in various professional interactions with the Swedish Navy to enhance best practices between the two navies.
The Indian Navy is committed to fostering partnerships with navies worldwide. INS Tabar celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day in Gothenburg. Gp Capt Amit Budhawar, Indian Defence Attache in Stockholm, and Capt MR Harish flagged off a 7.7 km run to commemorate 77 years of Indian Independence, with participation from 77 Indian Navy and Swedish Armed Forces personnel.
