Indian Navy’s First Training Squadron Completes Bahrain Visit

The Indian Navy’s First Training Squadron, consisting of INS Tir and ICGS Veera, successfully concluded their training deployment to Manama, Bahrain. During the visit, Captain Anshul Kishore, Senior Officer of the squadron, met with Major General Salman Mubarak Al-Doseri and Commodore Ahmed Ebrahim Buhamood to discuss regional maritime security and future collaboration.

Additionally, the squadron engaged with Cmde Mark Anderson of the Royal Navy and US Naval Forces Central Command to strengthen maritime cooperation. Visits were organized for Bahrain Defence Forces and other naval personnel to understand common operating procedures, paving the way for future collaborative exercises.

The delegation also visited the Naval Support Facility in Bahrain to learn about Task Force 59 and operations of USNAVCENT and CMF. Cross-training visits included briefings on unmanned systems and AI in the maritime domain.

In a spirit of camaraderie, a friendly football match was held between USNAVCENT and Indian Navy personnel, and the Indian Navy band performed in Manama. A community outreach activity was conducted at the ‘Tree of Life Social Charity Society’. An official reception was hosted onboard for various dignitaries and members of the Indian diaspora.

The visit concluded with a maritime exercise between INS Tir, ICGS Veera, and RBNS Al Farooq, reaffirming the strong maritime ties between the Indian and Bahraini navies.
