On October 5, Indian Naval Ships Tir, Shardul, and Indian Coast Guard Ship Veera from the First Training Squadron (1TS) arrived in Muscat, Oman. This visit highlights the growing defense relationship between India and Oman in the maritime sector, as stated by the Ministry of Defence.

During their stay from October 5 to 9, the Indian Navy will collaborate with the Royal Navy of Oman on maritime security and joint exercises. The visit will also include training exchanges, professional interactions, and friendly sports events between the two navies.

This marks the third visit of the 1TS to Muscat in the past decade, emphasizing the importance of naval cooperation and partnership. Coinciding with this visit, Vice Admiral V Srinivas, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Naval Command, will also be in Oman for official discussions with Omani military leaders and to visit key defense installations.

The Indian Navy and the Royal Navy of Oman have a history of collaboration in operations, training, and other fields. The recent visit and discussions aim to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two nations.
