Indian Navy Rescues Sick Patients from Agatti to Kochi in Bad Weather
The Indian Navy successfully evacuated two critically ill patients, including a three-year-old child, from Agatti Island in Lakshadweep to Kochi, Kerala. The operation was initiated by the Southern Naval Command in Kochi after receiving a request from the Union Territory of Lakshadweep.
Despite challenging weather conditions due to the Southwest Monsoon, a Naval Dornier aircraft from INS Garuda was deployed and successfully landed at Agatti. The patients were safely transported to Kochi at 7 pm and admitted to a local hospital for further medical treatment.
This operation highlights the Indian Navy’s dedication to crisis response and humanitarian assistance, demonstrating their readiness to act anytime, anywhere.
