Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi Meets Bangladesh Leaders in Dhaka

Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi visited Dhaka from July 1-4 to strengthen defence ties between India and Bangladesh. During his visit, he met with several key leaders:

Meeting with Bangladesh Army Chief

Admiral Tripathi met Gen Waker-Uz-Zaman, Chief of Army Staff of Bangladesh, at the Bangladesh Army Headquarters. They discussed the strong ties between the two nations and explored new avenues for defence cooperation, including training and joint exercises.

Meeting with Air Force Chief

On Wednesday, Admiral Tripathi met Air Marshal Hasan Mahmood, Chief of Air Staff of the Bangladesh Air Force. They highlighted the long-standing relationship between the two countries and discussed initiatives for enhancing cooperation in training and joint exercises.

Meeting with Security Advisor

Admiral Tripathi also met Maj Gen Tarique Ahmed Siddique (Retd), Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh. Their discussions focused on enhancing defence cooperation and aligning the visions of both countries, including Bangladesh Vision 2041 and India’s Vision 2047.

Meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina

On July 2, Admiral Tripathi met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. She appreciated India’s contribution to Bangladesh’s War of Liberation in 1971. They discussed ongoing bilateral maritime engagements between the Indian Navy and the Bangladesh Navy.
