Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi Discusses Pakistan’s Military Support from China

On Monday, Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi expressed his concerns about Pakistan receiving military equipment and weapons from China. He found it surprising that Pakistan, despite its struggling economy, could afford to modernize its armed forces. Admiral Tripathi assured that the Indian Navy is closely monitoring developments in the Pakistan Navy and has strategies in place to protect maritime security and national interests.

Admiral Tripathi also highlighted China’s growing naval power, noting that it has become the largest navy in terms of numbers. He mentioned that the Indian Navy is keeping track of China’s activities as well.

Furthermore, Admiral Tripathi shared that 63 ships are currently being built in Indian shipyards, including those by Defence Public Sector Undertakings and private industries like L&T. Among these are the 17 Bravo ships, which are advanced frigates weighing 7000-8000 tonnes. These new stealth frigates will enhance the Indian Navy’s capabilities.

Looking ahead, Admiral Tripathi stated that by 2047, the Indian Navy aims to be a fully self-reliant force, with all platforms being made in India. He mentioned the commissioning of two task forces at the Naval headquarters to explore and integrate new technologies, expressing optimism for the future.
