Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi Visits INS Shivaji and Highlights Vision for Future
Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi visited the naval base INS Shivaji in Lonavala, Maharashtra, where he inspected various training activities and facilities. He appreciated the incorporation of the latest technology and methodologies in the training curriculum and infrastructure.
Admiral Tripathi emphasized the importance of training to achieve the Indian Navy’s primary mission of safeguarding national maritime interests. On August 7, he released a document titled ‘CNS Course to Steer-2024 (CTS-2024)’, which outlines his vision for a combat-ready, credible, cohesive, and future-ready Navy for a Vikshit Bharat.
The document highlights key waypoints of his vision, and he urged naval personnel in leadership positions to use CTS-2024 to manage change and keep the Navy on course to protect the nation’s maritime interests. Admiral Tripathi became the 26th Chief of Naval Staff on April 30, succeeding Admiral R Hari Kumar.
Additionally, on August 5, the Indian Navy’s frontline frigate, INS Tabar, conducted a Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) with the German Navy off Kiel Canal. This exercise, following INS Tabar’s visit to Hamburg, Germany, aims to strengthen maritime relations between India and Germany.
The Ministry of Defence stated that the MPX signifies the Indian Navy’s outreach and sustenance efforts, marking a significant milestone in maritime cooperation between the two countries.
