Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi’s Visit to Bangladesh
Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi will be on an official visit to Bangladesh from July 1 to 4. The visit aims to strengthen the defence relations between India and Bangladesh and explore new avenues for naval cooperation.
Key Meetings and Events
During his visit, Admiral Tripathi will hold discussions with his counterpart, Admiral M Nazmul Hassan, Chief of the Naval Staff, Bangladesh Navy, in Dhaka. He will also review the Passing Out Parade at the Bangladesh Naval Academy in Chittagong on July 4.
Additionally, Admiral Tripathi will meet with the chiefs of the Bangladesh Army and Air Force, the Principal Staff Officer Armed Forces Division, and senior leaders of the Bangladesh Government. He will address participants at the National Defence College in Dhaka and visit key defence facilities.
Strengthening Naval Cooperation
India and Bangladesh have a strong history of naval cooperation, including operational interactions, port calls, bilateral naval exercises, and training initiatives. This visit aims to further strengthen the bonds of friendship between the navies of both countries.

Recent Defence Exchanges
In 2023, there were significant bilateral exchanges between the armed forces of India and Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Chief of Army Staff visited New Delhi in April, and the Indian Army Chief visited Bangladesh in June. The 5th Annual Defence Dialogue and 4th Tri-Services Talks were held in Dhaka in August, and the Bangladesh Chief of Naval Staff visited India in September.
