Indian Minister S Jaishankar Visits Maldives to Strengthen Ties
Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar arrived in the Maldives for a three-day visit from August 9 to 11. He was welcomed by Maldivian Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer at the airport.
The visit aims to enhance the bilateral relationship between India and the Maldives. Jaishankar expressed his excitement for fruitful discussions, while Zameer looked forward to solidifying historic ties.
This visit follows Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu’s recent trip to India for the swearing-in ceremony of the new Cabinet and Council of Ministers. Jaishankar had previously visited the Maldives in January 2023.
